I have been searching all over in the technical documentation and I can't find an answer anywhere so please help I'm looking to buy 3 VS-8024's possibly.

Ok on the data sheet is says the VS-8024 can support 30fps per channel at D1 or VGA. My Question is about resolutions higher than D1 or VGA? What is the fps for that on each channel? Also when your documentation says 30fps per channel at D1 or ...

I wont to know something about Qnap Nas deviecs

If i make a back-up to the nas, can i afther that put the back-up to the datacenter. Sow the server doing nothing afther the back-up, maybe is there a client or a bulit in client that can do that and on witch type is that ?

Our company (PSA International - Container Terminals) is very interested in the QNAP VS-8040U-RP VioStor NVR.
As you know the equipment is quite expensive to buy and then test to see if suits our purposes. We must be sure that it will work with all our cameras/video servers.

What else is required for a fully functional surveillance system?

As for the camera, I am having trouble finding a suitable camera on your compatability list, yet I'm sure others have been shown to work.

Camera Requirements:
- high quality video
- IR capability
- audio
- preferrably PTZ
- preferrably wireless operation.


Would you have a camera recommendation?

Is it correct that all QNAPs have a software RAID?
Alltough the troughput is high, according to compatitors, we are a bit concerned about the performance of the large models. We are thinking of using TS-809U-RP's
Thrughput is nice, but I/O is more important for us, because we want to connect lotst database servers to the QNAP.
E.g. with backup battery/ cache etc.

Have been reviewing the specs and noticed that the TS-239 and the 4 bay NAS's have dual gigabit sockets

I currently have 2 adsl lines with discrete networks (i.e. 2 routers) in the house. Am I right to think that I can assign 2 IP addresses and use the NAS to backup both networks?

If so - can I set the NAS up so users can see / retrieve files stored on the QNAP ...

Can Qnap servers connect to POS or Cash registers and overlays the text from the POS on the video? Example like cashier rings up coffee and it comes up the video?

Most of the POS can support serial journal printer which contains all the information necessary to overlay on the video.
