Windows Media Player & Twonky sorting issue

Hey all!

My music is served by Twonky also to my Vista Notebook. It's working, no problems there!
Sadly the "Album" category is not really sorted in Windows Media Player. That is because Albums with VA (Various Artists) are not displayed as one but rather many. So there are several Albums with the same name but different artists.

This is not the case on my other clients (see signature). So it seems to be WMP ...

Multi Media Station BUG (reset of user settings required)

I mapped the TS-409 to a win32 xp sp3 drive mapping such as M:\ts-409\QMULTIMEDIA using the admin username and password. Then uploaded several win32 folders of MP3 files for iTunes to pick up. All seemed well until I went to grant default user "GUEST" access to ALL the folders. After doing this I had some HTTP errors so figured it might be commas in the path names etc so I cleaned them up again in ...

Adding Music to iTunes Library on NAS

Hi All! I found this nifty work around for adding music to your itunes library on NAS. I haven't tried it yet but will get around to it as soon as I can, but I thought I would share with you folks Enjoy:
If you are the only one who uses the iTunes library (i.e. you're not sharing it) you may simply move the entire library to the NAS and direct iTunes to use that ...

Cronjob for reshuffling Twonkymedia playlist

Hi, I like to use the shuffle playlist function in Twonkymedia, playing music on my Popcorn Hour. But unless the server is restarted the playlist is the same every time.

I'd like to make a cronjob to restart the server, say, twice a day. I know how to edit the cron file, but not what to write to make it work.

Can somebody please help?

Video stream dropped even with gigabit ethernet

Hi,

I have a ps3 with Twonky connected to home network. TS-409 and PS3 are connected via a switch using gigabit ethernet / cat6 cable.

I still get dropouts even with standard def .avi video content - it's unwatchable as it drops about every 30 seconds.

I have a couple of laptops accessing the same network wirelessly but no heavy traffic on the network during playback.

Can anyone suggest possible reasons for this poor performance ...
