Hello Guys

Need some help regarding replacement of HDD.

I've got a 4-Bay NAS running RAID using 4x 1TB HDD (total capacity is 4TB).
Recently one of the 1TB HDD seems to be faulty.

If I purchase a "new 3TB HDD" and swap out the "old faulty 1TB HDD", will the overall capacity still be 4TB?
Or the overall capacity will now be 6TB?

Let's say if I eventually swap out all the old 1TB ...

i'm here too with this qnap TS-412 that every day has a different problem.

now i've reformatted the nas and installed the firmware 4.0.1. i'm using 3 hdd in raid5 and 2 lan in round robin balanced mode.

the problem of this time is that the web interface isn't accessible: after the https certificate message i get or a qnap web page with this messagge
"Error
Page not found or the web ...

So i wanted to make backups onto qnap and i managed to get HP Data Protector 6.2 Disk and Media agent running on qnap.
Don't know if this works with other devices, but it should work on all intel atom based qnaps with similar firmware.

My Setup:
Qnap: TS-469U
Firmware: 3.8.3 Build 20130426
HP Data protector: 6.2

After adding printer and rebooting QNAP
System Logs:
2013-06-17 13:07:34 System 127.0.0.1 localhost Printer DESKJET 1220C added.

Home> External Devices > USB Printers (Printer Tab) nothing listed.
eg: I should see a printer.

yesterday i've experienced this problem on qnap TS-412 when i try to upgrade firmware to the latest. i'm upgrading from 3.8.3

I've passed the new .img file by the web interface and after 20 minutes i get a time out error on the web interface. i've closed and reopened the page, login again and retry the operation. same result. so i've rebooted the nas.

Hello i have a TS-469L 4*3TB Raid 5 4GB RAM + Sans Digital TR5UT+B UB3/Esata 5*1 TB Raid 5 connected in esate my question is it better this or to put it in usb 3.

For my TS-859 Pro 8*3TB Raid 5 2GB Ram + Starteck 4Bay Raid USB 3/esata 4*3TB Rais 5 i have connected in esata because no use 3 on it.
