TwonkyMedia server is DLNA-compliant UPnP AV server software available for all the modern operating systems as well as mobile platforms such as Android. TwonkyMedia server can be used to share and stream media to most UPnP AV or DLNA-compliant clients, in addition to non-UPnP devices through the HTML, RSS, and JSON supported front-ends.
Apart from having HUGE issues with my QNAP which I am slowly working through........... I have Started life again from scratch with my QNAP 412 and I have installed Twonky but after it is enabled I am unable to find the "page" ie: 10.1.1.10:9000 it just wont come up..... and I am hoping for a helping hand here please. details: QNAP 412 3x 2TB seagate in single ...
I just updated Twonky to 7.0.9 (using the official QNAP link).
Is it correct that the default DLNA service application remains in the Applications list instead of being replaced by the upgrade? Is there a way to actually do this (i.e. replace the default DLNA/Twonky app with the new version).
Just wondering. When I connect to my TS412 running the DLNA service using a DLNA compatible client, I see just 3 share folders: Music, Videos & Photos. I've shared 4 folder in the Twonky setup: Music, Photos, Movies & TV Shows When I want to look up a TV show I now have to shift through all the video files (must be around 2000 of them, movies and tv shows together). It would be nicer ...
I am running Twonky 6.0.39 on a QNAP TS419 firmware 3.8.0.
I have setup my iTunes folder onto the QNAP with the corresponding library files: iTunes Library Extras.itdb, iTunes Library.itl, iTunes Library.xml
The problem is that Twonky lists a bunch of playlists which do not correspond with my current iTunes. It seems to be listing some old or corrupted playlist and I cannot get it to read the current playlists, listed in iTunes.
I have a TS112. I have just bought a network streamer which I want to use to play music from the NAS. The streamer plays MP3's off the NAS fine, using Twonky, but it won't play Apple Lossless.
The streamer supports ALAC, or so it claims, but when I click on a lossless file it just says that it can't play it..
Any ideas? Is there something I need to change in the NAS ...
After ripping a dvd with fastbrake (tried mkv and m4v, same result) - and streaming it from my TS-112 (via Twonky 7.0.9) to my Samsung smart tv (UE46ES8005) I am only able to play and pause (excellent picture and sound BTW). No fast forward, no chapter marks even though they were included in the ripping. :?
Hi, do you use your twonky server so that the HDD spins down if none of the powered up streaming-clients is streaming? :) If yes, which streaming clients do you use?
My motivation of this question: I intend to buy a QNAP TS-119P II as a twonky server and would like to avoid a 24/7 operation of its HDD. I already have an NSLU2 NAS with Twonky ...
Does anyone know where I can find the above version of Twonky server QPKG format. Or explain how, if possible to install other formats? Thx in advance....
