Hi folks,

After some months of work, I successfully ported Mono 3.0.3 on my QNAP TS-559 Pro NAS.
This is an x86 (32 bits) package, so it can be installed on others NAS.
It's based on the work done by Adnovea (http://wiki.qnap.com/wiki/Mono).

I was waiting for the last ARM version of mono a lot of time (I tried to compile this but It doesn't work) and I need this, because I have some programs already compiled in the last version.

I've a project in my school and I have to install an ASP.NET website on my TS-410 QNAP NAS. I read in this forum, that somebody has installed "Mono" on a ARM System. My problem is, I'm a beginner with this modules. Have somebody a step by step instruction or helpful tips to me?

I have written a few aspx pages to implement some Wake On LAN functionality for my home network.
I also want to ping hosts to show their powered status.

The problem I have is that if I use the System.Net.NetworkInformation.Ping class to ping the hosts I only ever get a TtlExpired status reply when I run the page on my QNAP.
I then implemented my own Ping class by using Sockets and ICMP directly. ...

I used PUTTY to SSH connect to my NAS, logged in.

Wrote:
mono -V

Responded:
-sh: /usr/bin/mono: cannot execute binary file

Also tried
mono --version

Whats is the problem?

OK.... I just bought my QNAP and this is my first time working with a NAS. I now want to do some web serving using ASP.NET. I downloaded the MONO package and installed it. But, now what?

Where do I transfer the web files?
I have an installation path of "/share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/Mono", but where on earth is it? I assume I cannot find this through Windows Explorer? What format do the website files need to be ...

Mono 3.0.3 is now provided by JayDee, you should use this as the file used in this post has gone missing and JayDee has done a better job.

Hi,

simple question: my basic webserver is running fine. I can install the mono plugin into my TS-110 QNAP NAS, but the webserver won't respond any longer.
Is any additional configuration needed?
Is the plugin meant for use on the TS-110 model anyway? If not, why not?
