Guide on how to manually stop and start Crashplan

Hi all

As would be seen on the main qpkg download thread that Dynek created (thanks Dynek for your work with bringing this package to us), there is a link to something I asked an age ago about manually stopping and starting Crash Plan to ensure that your hdd spin down to allow your NAS to sleep. I had no end of troubles with this and so managed to get it sorted by doing the ...

Change network interface for cloud backups

I have a TS-412 unit with two network interfaces and would like to have crashplan backup through the second network interface. The crashplan admin page gives two choices under "IP CrashPlan will be listening on". I don't care which IP it listens on, I want to change which one it uses to backup to the cloud. Does anyone know how to change this?

Out of space at destination: Insufficient space

Hey,

I am trying to get crashplan to backup my PC to QNAP and other way round. It was all working fine till I rebooted the NAS. I see these errors on crashplan on the PC "Out of space at destination - Insufficient space"

"Out-of-disk-space on ramdisk. If restarting the server does not solve the problem please contact support for further assistance.". I see this error on the NAS.
"The system is unable to save ...

Hey all,

This is my first post. I recently got a TS-219p II for home use. Successfully installed headless crashplan (thanks dynek) by following http://blog.s-c-r.de/2012/02/01/qnap-cr ... IaudMXA_E0 and have my PC backing up to NAS and NAS backing up to attached USB drive on my PC + both to crashplan central.

Crashplan and local characters problem

Hi

I have a setup with a Crashplan running on a TS-219P II and the backup of the local data on QNAP works fine.
But I have a WD Live hub, with some data on, that I also wish to backup.

So I thought that if I mount the share of the WD live, and then have the Crashplan take a backup that would do the job.
It almost did.
I can backup most files/directories. ...

Can't Connect to Backup Engine

I've been trying for 2 weeks to get Crash Plan up and keep getting the following error: "Unable to connect to backup engine"

I have the following files installed in the Public share on the NAS:
ejre-7u6-fcs-b24-linux-arm-sflt-headless-10_aug_2012.tar.gz
JRE_6_arm-x19.qpkg (have also tried JRE_7.qpkg)
CrashPlan_3.2.1_24_arm-x19.qpkg

The enabled JRE 6 is from Ad'Novea, QnapAndy and indicates it only supports x86-based NAS

The logs indicate:
JRE 6 has been installed in /share/HDA_DATA/.qpkg/JRE
CrashPlan 3.2.1_24 has been installed in /share/HDA_DATA/.qpkg/CrashPlan ...

Very high CPU usage

Hi Dynek,
I've been using Crashplan 3.2.1_23 (CrashPlan_3.2.1_23_arm-x19.qpkg) on the TS-412, and it is running, somewhat. The issue is that it eats most CPU, with a load average between 3 and 8. Streaming from the build-in Twonky or tvmobili I tried often gets interrupted, presumably due to the high CPU load.
Verifying the File Selection would take many days for about 200k files, 200GB.
This weekend I disabled CP, uninstalled the JRE 6, and installed ...
