Username / PW for Resource Monitor / Qmanager

Post by sascha valieri »

Hi,

i just bought an TS-869 Pro in addition to my existing TS-412.

Due to that process I updated the firmware of both TS to 4.0.2 and my QNAP Qfinder to 4.0.1. I also downlaoded Qmanager for Android.

Now I want to use the Qmanager or the "Resource Monitor" to have a quick overview over both systems.

Unfortunatly i can not log on.
i used:
admin / admin
admin / new password (which i changed of course)
sascha / "my Passoword" .
but I can not log on.

So: where can i create an user for the resource monitor and set the corresponding pw?
Thanks in advance.

The standard admin or any account in the administrators group (permitting full admin access by the Web UI), perfectly integrated.

Suspect a connectivity, lack of port forwarding, name resolution, ... or whatever problem.

Give us some ideas what kind of password you have normally. Potentially an encoding or length issue.

Qmanager on Android or iOS?

Try with something less paranoid and shorter (like, alphanumeric chars only, 15 or less.)

Not really, but you can debate this elsewhere.

Nowhere QNAP QTS 4 GUI permits password longer than 16 characters, neither on the login, on the password change, ...

Potentially, Qmobile (and other apps) are implemented much more flexible, and permits submitting longer passwords entered to the NAS. Of course, the login will fail because of the UI entered password (resp. the hash created from the password truncated to 16 characters) does not match.

I suggest to change your password from the Web UI, ensure it does not exceed 10 characters, and retry.

Afraid, the image is very appropriate...
