It turned out that in order for Subsonic to see them I needed to add the Finnish character map, and while I was at it I added the Spanish and French ones too, heres how...
I followed this guide http://wiki.qnap.com/wiki/Country_Locale but hit a brick wall with errors during the compiling of both the Finnish & Spanish char sets. The modified steps I took are as follows:
1. Download the Posix char maps from http://wiki.qnap.com/w/images/7/77/Posix-locales.rar
2. Move the Posix-locales.rar to share/download and extract the files there.
3. Pick the relevant locales from the "LOCALES" folder of the unarchived Posix-locales.rar and copy to the /usr/share/i18n/locales directory.
Code: Select all
cp /share/Download/posix-locales/LOCALES/fi_FI /usr/share/i18n/locales
cp /share/Download/posix-locales/LOCALES/es_ES /usr/share/i18n/locales
cp /share/Download/posix-locales/LOCALES/fr_FR /usr/share/i18n/locales
You can go through the LOCALES folder and add any others you may need, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, Greek etc...
4. Copy both translit_cjk_variants and translit_combining to the /usr/share/i18n/locales directory.
Code: Select all
cp /share/Download/posix-locales/LOCALES/translit_cjk_variants /usr/share/i18n/locales
cp /share/Download/posix-locales/LOCALES/translit_combining /usr/share/i18n/locales
Code: Select all
cp /share/Download/posix-locales/charmaps/ISO-8859-15.gz /usr/share/i18n/charmaps
cp /share/Download/posix-locales/charmaps/ISO-8859-1.gz /usr/share/i18n/charmaps
cp /share/Download/posix-locales/charmaps/ANSI_X3.4-1968.gz /usr/share/i18n/charmaps
Code: Select all
localedef -c -f UTF-8 -i fi_FI fi_FI.UTF-8
localedef -c -f UTF-8 -i es_ES es_ES.UTF-8
localedef -c -f UTF-8 -i fr_FR fr_FR.UTF-8
7. Check that they were added correctly..
Code: Select all
locale -a
Code: Select all
/etc/init.d/Qthttpd.sh restart
