Postby souwalker » Wed Mar 10, 2010 10:29 am

Hi

I am just sitting in front of my PC setting up the 210. I've come to the quick guide section where the Raid (Raid 1) and the File System. I've got 2 Seagate 1.5tb disk so I selected Raid 1 but it's defaulting to File System Ext 3. What is Ext 3 and what do I select? The other option is Ext 4.

Would highly appreciate help so I can finish of quick installation.

Many Thanks

Hi Pat,
EXT4 file system will give you 5-15 % better performance over EXT3.
but EXT4 can only be read on the newer Linux OS (such as the latest Ubuntu), if you need to read the HDD data on another system.

If you need better compatibility with other OS, choose EXT3.
