It has not been even a month since my prized purchase and I have noticed painfully slow write speed (approx 130-150KB/sec) and read speed (ranging from 5-10Mb/sec) on eth0 for my TS-412.
The eth0 setting is as follows-
Connection 1000Mbps
MTU-1500
Auto negotiation - enabled
Static IP
My current setup:-
TS-412 firmware 3.6.0
TS-412 with single 3TB Hitachi Desktar 5400rpm (disk space free = 1.7TB)
all devices connected with cat6 cables
Billion 7800n 4 port Gigabit modem router
wired to Dell Studio Inspiron 1535 at 1.0 Gbps
wired to Dell Latitude E6400 at 1.0Gbps
The interesting thing is that with identical setting, and connecting cables when used on eth1 I get read speed of 42-45 Mb/sec and write speed ranging from 35-40Mb/sec.
I have searched through the forum and the closest I have seen related to my issue is inked with HDD being almost full but I have more than half still free for use and eth1 port working at expected transfer speeds.
I have restored the NAS to factory settings re-formatted my HDD but still same issue.
I have also tried this on my Seagate 160GB hdd with identical results.
What could be wrong? Is it because eth0 is faulty?
If it is then am I entitled for a replacement straight away or it has to be RMA'd?
I have scanned through some horror stories about re the QNAP RMA process.
