Unable to reach admin web page from Finder

Postby jonninemonic » Wed Jun 27, 2012 5:23 pm

Hi all,

Plugged in my new TS-1079 and started it. QNAP Finder finds it and I can configure it (using the Configure button), but when I try to connect (using the Connect button) the web browser ssys ERR_TIMED_OUT. I have also a TS-859 and I can connect to that just fine through the web browser. If I remove it from the network I can reach the page by using the default address, 169.254.100.100:8080. Connected it back to the network and still no success. Grateful for any help or directions.

Is there a DHCP server assigning an IP address to device requesting it? The NAS will just fall-back to the default IP if there is no address asigned from a DHCP server - of when there is a static configuration on the inteface, of course.

I assume your LAN is not working on pure Zerconfig addresses 169.254.0.0/16) of coure.

Yes, I have a Linksys E4200 with DHCP reservation and I can see in the DHCP client list that the NAS has been assigned an ip address. Accessing that address on port 8080 in a web browser gives no response.

Perhaps Linksys E4200 and QNAP both trying to use 8080/TCP for Remote Administration port?

Well, the router (using port 80 for web admin) and the NAS has different ip addresses on the network so I don't understand how that can be an issue. Also, I have no problems reaching the other NAS on port 8080.

Installed latest firmware and it suddenly works. Bizarre.
