Lost access to Web File Manager, Multimedia Station…

Postby Jonz » Sun Jul 22, 2012 5:01 pm

Hi

Just installed 4 brand new 2 Tb Wd Red disks on my ts-439 from scratch, raid 5.
Now I get a page saying “Access Denied” from Web-File-Manager.
From the application servers (Multimedia Station, Photo Station, ...) I get: “Note: To use this function, please upgrade the system firmware with the image file enclosed in the product CD or download the latest system firmware.
System firmware: 3.7.1 Build 20120615, before harddisk update ditto.

Restore of old settings from backup didn’t help.
Restore to Factory Default didn’t help.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Honest, I think you have not lost the access to anything - it's just an incomplete system install, which is required after replacing all disks and a restart from scratch.

Have done as advised and re-installed the 3.7.1 Build 20120615 formware after starting with the all-new disks? Background: The firmware size is exceeeding the Flash size, and a part of the firmware is on two small HDD system partitions, along with the third one used as swapspace.

Aside, 3.7.2 is available for your NAS model - so safe some time and use the new build viewtopic.php?f=142&t=61578

Thanx a lot.
Installed firmware 3.7.2 and restored to Factory Defaults, which did the trick.
Don’t know what went wrong the first time. I used the live firmware update before upgrade. Installed new disk and followed guide on the server display.
Will now enjoy a sunny Sunday outside instead of fiddling with my computer network :-)
