So I saw that you guys put up the product datasheet

639 and 809 are planned for the first quarter 2009. Official date hasn't been decided yet.

look like the 639 have the same hardware as the 509??

but again i had to wait til these products came out.
synology 2x ds106 64mb 1x500GB
synology ds106e 32mb 1x320GB
qnap ts-509 4GB ram 5x500GB (v2.1.1 Build 0122)

Sorry, no - it is an all-new design. While all are drawn based on industry standard x86 components; neither the TS-439 (even if one DD slot less) nor the TS-639 (even if one HDD slot more) will be a direct replacement for the TS-509.

The TS-809 models on the other hand, are designed to a much higher performance level - and to a different price tag.

also less use of energy?
the ts-509 use a 70w all the time.
synology 508 use a 27w(standby) and 54W full access.

Damn i had to wait before i buy the 509 :(

TS-439? yeah, finally a replacement for 409..when will the new products be launched? during CES09? thanks for the info :)
