Remote backup of VMware

I am pricing out the parts to convert our office to VMware. One of my objectives is to setup a DR site. Our servers are currently in TX and we have another office in VA. I would like to setup the new VMware equipment in TX using the QNAP NAS server as the datastore for the VMs. I am trying to implement a solution to make nightly backups of the VMs to our VA office. This is a 3 mb pipe so cant handle doing full backups on a nightly basis.

I have seen some references to RSYNC only moving changed blocks (as opposed to RTRR moving the entire VM file if any thing changed). Is this correct? Would there be any difference between ESX connecting to the QNAP with iSCSI vs NFS (as far as replication goes)?

I am hoping to be able to purchase two of the QNAP boxes, get them synced while side by side, then shipping one to VA and have RSYNC maintain the changes.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
