Diff for TS-469 Pro, QNAP TS-459 Pro II and QNAP TS-459 Pro+

Hello,

Based on yours information, is that?
- All the memory module compatible with DDR3 1066 DRAM supported?
- Since the Intel Atom C2700 processor does support DRAM of up to 4 GB total, I can only install max 2GB model into the TS-469 pro. Is that right?
- Is that any support list for the memory module of the TS-469 pro?

There might be different architectures available - so probably not. Check the Forum for user reports please.

Wrong. Only one module is user accessible, this is empty on delivery. This is documented in the link I gave you just a few posts back.

I don't think this would make any sense. The DRAM market is much to volatile. If you are concerned about plug-and-play compatibility, buy direct from shop.qnap.com

No there isn't as the only memory expansion supported by Qnap are with one of the 1 GB or 2 GB modules bought from their own shop. That will give a total maximum RAM of 2 or 3 GB.

Yes I know they are expensive but I'm not responsible for that decision, I'm just the one telling you.

As of v3.7.x - yes:

Linux TS-269L 2.6.33.2 #1 SMP Wed Aug 1 02:11:19 CST 2012 x86_64 unknown

Suspect this is based on the decision that systems "unable" to reach 16 TD storage volume size can remain 32-bit - so this applies to the NAS with a smaller number of storage slots. As we see from the two bay 269L here, this decision was reviewed. Would make senseto bring all capable NAS models to 64-bit IMHO.

Does it matter? Max DRAM supported is 3 GB only for example.

Yes it does matter. Some software (not open) is compiled nowadays only 64-bit (example Oracle 11g XE).
64-bit systems can run 32 bit software. The other way around is impossible.

Is copy share (old) to share (new) an option over the network? Takes it's time - but it's the most simple one.

Not fully convinced - see 3).

It's EXT3 - however, there is a little (unintentional) glitch - prohibiting to connect (not plug ino the internal slots) the HDD to your new NAS.

The USB are USB hosts and cant be connected back to back anyway.

You are lucky with your TS-209 is still operational - you are encouraged to take the time to copy everything over the network.

Some ext cases and docking stations work, some dont. You will have to try, hopefully you have one and are not buying one hoping it will work. Several of mine refuse to work.
