Correct: A CPU from the Celeron line, no Atom with these sockets.
Mr_Cyclon wrote:Maybe the 870 (non-pro) / 870pro will replace the 869pro as soon as the 2.13 GHz Atoms are out of stock?
Unrelated, as it's really Celeron. Intel does still manufacture the 2.13 GHz Atom - and has not updated ARK accordingly - for the embedded computer industry. A next Atom generation is announced for late 2013.

How true ... but then most NAS vendors must have stopped manufacturing a long time ago. Some are referencing the chip as D2701.

Anyway, the TS-x70 is not intended to replace the current Atom-based TS-x69.

But let's see what we get when the time is there, before rushing to conclusions

Rather than which processor it will eventually be running, I find it more important that the XBMC will be up to spec and performing without the known issues of the x69 series. For me at home that is the only pleasure killing bottle neck during dailly use. In that case I'd still consider an upgrade if if can sell my QNAP for a reasonable price.

I'm not across the issues with the x69 series, WhiteAnimal166. Are the issues CPU bound? Care to elaborate?

This is what I see on Amazon so far for the USA:

4-bay:
http://www.amazon.com/QNAP-TS-470-US-Qn ... rds=TS-470

6-bay:
http://www.amazon.com/QNAP-TS-670-US-Qn ... rds=TS-670

I guess this is the CPU as everyone already stated:

http://ark.intel.com/products/53418

TVS-672N h5.0.1.2248 build 20221215
i7-8700T | 64GB DDR4 (2 x M471A4G43MB1-CTD) | 2 x Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1.0TB | 6 x 18TB HGST HC550

I was looking at the QNAP TS-469 Pro and the Synology 412+ but I wanted something with more than the Intel Atom could offer. The new QNAP line with the Intel i3 is interesting but I can't find the Pro version of the 470 or 670 for sale anywhere.

Has this been released?

Was published earlier in this thread.
Document talks about the TS-x79 Pro Series not the TS-x70 Series (TS-x70 NON-Pro Series).

What I can see on the different websites is that the German market will get the Pro and the Non-Pro Series.

Doesn't really fit to http://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?p=365351#p365351

EDIT

EANs:
TS-470 Pro 4712511124736
TS-470 4054842160695 ???
TS-670 Pro 4712511124743
TS-670 4054842160701 ???
TS-870 Pro 4712511124750
TS-870 4054318630592 ???

The Pro series are already available, while the Non-Pro series will be delivered within the next two weeks.

QNAP does definitively not offer a TS-x70 Pro with the i3-3220 in Europe (and most likely not in North America, too) as of writing. Large majority of information available on European best price search platforms, some reseller e-shops, ... are simply wrong, misleading.

Also wrong are johnrippers EAN assumptions:

Model - EAN - UPC
TS-470 Pro 4712511124507 885022004478
TS-470 4712511124736 885022004706
TS-670 Pro 4712511124514 885022004485
TS-670 4712511124743 885022004713
TS-870 Pro 4712511124729 885022004690
TS-870 4712511124750 885022004720

Afraid, I'd love to give you other information...

I didnt look at best price website but some retailers I worked with. They normally publish very precise Information on there systems.

What about the TS-670 Pro and TS-870 Pro in the EU market? Same as for TS-470 Pro?

Your EAN fit to the non Pro models I see here. So guess there is quite some confusion about this.

Too bad the TS-x70 Pro models with the i3-3220 are nice models.

Updated post (changed TS-470 -> TS-x70) - sorry for the confusion caused.

Considering most previews in the net and the press featured the i3 CPU, and include the live video transcoding ... indeed.

Yes. I can't see any logic offering only the less performing, and lower spec'ed [loss of live transcoding] for the next-gen HDMI equipped HD Station NAS in Europe and North America.

At least for the TS-879 Pro vs. TS-870 Pro I see a logic: Marketing

Compared:
TS-879 Pro is around 1.900 EUR w/CPU i3-2120
TS-870 Pro is around 1.200 EUR w/CPU i3-3220

... this inherits that the other markets are not powerful enough to create enough TS-x79 (with he now massively aged Intel i3-2121) business at the higher price? No doubts, the TS-x79 Series will be replaced not to far away I guess, and get updated hard and software. I bet Europe and North America will receive some low cost Pentium, and Asia will see i5, i7, or Xeon

I can see fewer and fewer reasons to buy QNAP HW... or, any of these special NAS boxes, frankly. The latest NAS here is an industry standard server, with NBD warranty. Lot cheaper than the €1900, 8 drives in RAID-6, running CentOS.
I'm gone from this forum till QNAP stop wasting volunteers' time. Get help from QNAP helpdesk instead.
Warning: offensive signature and materials damaging QNAP reputation follow:
QNAP's FW security issues
QNAP's hardware compatibility list madness
QNAP's new logo competition
Dear QNAP, kindly fire your clueless incompetent forum "admin" And while at it, don't forget the webmaster!
