we're considering buying a TS209 Pro II (or even the 409?) to boost performance on our multiuser (1-3) CAD-workstations. Each workstation accesses via Network the same database, consiting of heaps of small files and subfolder on a shared Network-Server harddisk (Transfer-Rates aren't too bad, but access time is too slow). The Domain Network is operated by Win2003 AD, including DFS.
I'd like to move the time-critical folder to the QNAP-NAS without the Network noticing just by modifying the DFS-Root. Does the NAS support DFS?
I know the Buffalo Terra Station does...
Regards.
