Plex + google chromecast + a little forum and Internet searching = media nirvana

good luck

edit: you'll need to run media center on a different device and use the NAS as a media source (via dlna probably). forget media center and use a chromecast imho.

Not much more is needed. Your NAS supports XBMC, so you can plug your NAS directly into your TV or AV-Receiver and enjoy your content on your TV and/or AV-Receiver.

Don't bother with Plex, as it is only half of a a solution. Only the Plex backend is provided. Plex can not use the HDMI video port on the NAS.

Yes. There are dozens of possible ways of doing so. The NAS comes with XBMC on it, so you can watch your Movies directly on your TV attached via HDMI. You can also stream your Media to your PCs/Tablets/Blu-ray players/Cellphones etc. I frequently stream different media to multiple devices at the same time. My children vary in age from 14 to 28, so they have differing tastes, thanks to my TS-470 Pro, I can watch a Movie in my livingroom, while my kids watch different media on their bedroom TV's, and/or Laptops.

I purchased Android Mini-PC's for all the TV's in the House, so that I have XBMC available on every TV in the house.

which is why I mentioned the chromecast.

Anyway, OP, look at plex and then xbmc. if you are going to only have one TV with media and the NAS is directly attached, then xbmc should be fine. however, chromecast plus plex provides many many more options than xbmc alone does. In today's market it's the simplest media setup with the most options. Someone doesn't even need a remote with plex. all media playback is initiated by a smartphone or tablet and sent to a chromecast or watched locally.

Hello
Chromecast support is now available in the QAirplay app.
The mobile app support will come in these months.

The QAirplay App for the NAS (it's available from the QNAP App Center) or the Chromecast device?
