[Problem] One Touch Backup failed
I failed to copy data from an external Buffalo 640GB USB drive (NTFS format) using the One-Touch-Backup button.
In the admin panel, I configured to copy from USB drive to "Public" folder, with "Copy" option. I checked that the USB drive can be accessed correctly as "USBDisk1", and the blue LED for USB is ON. However, when I hit the "One-Touch-Backup" button, the blue LED went off. No copying is done. When I looked in to the system log, it said "USB OTB: USB copying failed. (USB mount point is not exist !)"
My QNAP NAS:
Model: TS-119
Firmware: 3.1.1 Build 0815T
Anything wrong with the setup?

Re: [Problem] One Touch Backup failed
Hi alanwong,
Pls check some items below:
1.Only the USB port of the front pennel is work for One Touch Copy.
2.Make sure your usb disk(USBDisk1) shows the correct Info. on the page of "External Storage Device" under "Home>>External Device".
3. After you press the Copy button, pls check the "System Logs" again for the copy complete.
Pls let us know if it works for you.

Re: [Problem] One Touch Backup failed
I've got a 419P and have seen the same problem.
When I plug a Belkin media reader to the front USB port and plug in a SD card it reads it fine (fully accessible from the USBDisk1 directory). However pushing the copy button results in the "USB copying failed. (USB mount point is not exist !)" error.
When I try the same thing with a standard USB thumb drive it all works properly.
My guess is that since the Belkin card reader has a number of different "drives" the QNAP gets confused?
Is there a workaround for this problem?
Thanks
Will

Re: [Problem] One Touch Backup failed
Nice to see I'm not the only one having this issue. But is there a fix for this issue?
The logging of my TS-410 shows me:
127.0.0.1 localhost [USB One Touch Copy] USB copying failed. (USB mount point does not exist!)
127.0.0.1 localhost [USB One Touch Copy] Copying from [USBDisk1] to [Qusb] started.
Although, I can successfully access my USB disk when I setup a SSH connection to my NAS. (My USB disk is at /share/USBDisk1).
What's going wrong here?
Btw: my configuration: Qnap NAS TS-410 with 3.2.3 firmware. The USB disk is a Corsair Flash Voyager Mini of 16GB formatted as FAT32.

Re: [Problem] One Touch Backup failed
I can confirm that. Some logging of my TS-410 after upgrading:
[USBDisk1] Device removed successfully.
[USB One Touch Copy] USB copying failed. (USB mount point does not exist!)
[USB One Touch Copy] Copying from [USBDisk1] to [Qusb] started.
[USBDisk1] Device detected. The file system is fat.

Re: [Problem] One Touch Backup failed
Hi there,
same problem on a TS-439 Pro
Firmware version is 3.2.5, external usb drive contains a 160GB NTFS formatted disk wich works well as an eSata drive anyway.
Is anyone listening to our problem at QNAP Support?

Re: [Problem] One Touch Backup failed
QNAP support - are you listening? ...... Yet another user with one-touch backup problems.
12:42:02 System 127.0.0.1 localhost [USB One Touch Copy] Copying from [Public] to [USBDisk1] started.
I have now tried one-touch backup with 2 different external USB drives, one formatted NTFS and this one formatted FAT.
The "backup" function seems to work OK (one one drive, not another) - however the one-touch function is totally useless for me (29GB directory to back up).
Any guidance on this would be appreciated.
For now, I would say that NO ONE should rely on the one-touch backup for their backups. You must be extra careful to double-check everything that the QNAP product does as this option is unreliable.

Re: [Problem] One Touch Backup failed
Hi,
For ARM-based NAS, the backup to external drive & USB one touch copy's 'synchronize' option is now temporarily replace by the 'CP' command because of the new kernel. Please update to the latest v3.2.6 firmware and test again.
For intel-based NAS, the bug should be fixed in the latest v3.2.6 Build0423 firmware. Please update to the latest v3.2.6 and try again.
If you still have issues, please let us know:
1. NAS model & firmware
2. backup options (copy, sync, add folder)
3. external drive's model & capacity
4. how big and how many files to be backed up?
thanks
Jason

Hi DocIN and others,
The new beta v3.3.0 solves synchronized backup if the data contains some special symbols.
If you do not want to try it, can you please offer access for our engineers? so that we can check the root cause of error
