uTorrent keeps telling me I don't have "permission to write"

Post by sirdavy »

Hi

I'm running uTorrent on my laptop and have the "complete" and "incomplete" folders in my "download" folder of my NAS. This works almost perfectly.

But each time I close and re-open my laptop and then try to download a torrent I get a message telling me "you don't have enough permissions to write to /volumes/downloads" then I have to direct uTorrent in its Preferences section to the location of the "complete" and "incomplete" folders. It then works.

Is there some way to for uTorrent or the NAS to remain permanently attached or to automatically locate itself to those folders?

The answer might be simple - however you permanently mount these folders, something is not ready yet. Impossible to answer, lack of any useful information.

For using AFP (and bunches of other enhancements) consider to update to QTS 4.1.0 Build 20140612 (or newer).

Lack of useful information from me? What do you need to know?

It's as if each time my mac re-connects with the NAS uTorrent forgets the path to the folder.

I have uTorrent on my mac set up to download files into folders located on the NAS in the "Download" volume.

The message from uTorrent say "you don't have enough permissions to write to /volumes/downloads". Could it be something to do with the permissions set on that Download volume?

Afraid this has nothing at all to do with QNAP. You'll get better served at proper place.
