Strange, also open passive ports ?
Check if the bahaviour is the same with transmission. If yes then i look at the firewall again. If no then prob something eighter bug or config error in software.

This is from the Qnap wiki, i dont know how mutch is relevant but still good reading: http://wiki.qnap.com/w/index.php?title=Transmission
Otherwise I think you need to hang in the transmission section to seek more knowledge ;)

for most configuration items, you just need to setup once and never change again. for daily work (add/update/delete/start/stop tasks), you can operate by Transmission-Remote-GUI remotely. anyway, I wrote some scripts for daily work so I can login by SSH and run those scripts.

I hope you got it to work as this is a bit of a thread necro reply.

I ended up having to enable uPnP as I don't think my port forwarding was working properly (router is being funny, it's old and I'm now running Win 7 x64 with Firefox 4.0.1 so the web config is playing up). Then I deleted the task and re-added the torrent. I checked the data as 100% and went into seeding mode.

Check the NAS FTP server configuration page - Passive Port range - and forward this range (along with 21/TCP) to the NAS LAN IP.

Please note that using the term "passive" regarding ports does suggest that the question is regarding a ftp-server so that is what schumaku have answered on above.

If the question is really regarding some torrent download application like the Qnap Download Station (per the subject of this thread) or Transmission, you'll have to check how that torrent application is configured (default port range in Download Station is 6881-6889 I think). Then check the documentation for your router and open that same port range in the router.
No, RAID has never ever been a replacement for backups. Without backups you will eventually lose data!

Sounds like you don't have your Port-Range Forwarding setup properly.

Image

The above screenshot shows my Port-Range Forwarding setup within my Router.

You'll note that I created "forwards" for DownloadStation (BT), FTP, and Transmission. I hope this helps...

Edit: 2012-07-11: Is there some pressing reason why your QNAP Firmware is so badly out of date? I note your are using No-where-near-Current firmware version: 3.3.8 Build 1217T, rather than the Current Firmware: v3.7.1. You can download the current firmware from the QNAP TS-119 Download Page.

Hi all,
Stupid question: Isn't there a share ratio limit?
My TS-212 stops seeding after download if the share ratio reaches 150%.
