NMP-1000P blu-ray image iso problem

Postby maytrees » Mon Jul 02, 2012 4:51 am

While my NMP-1000P will always play all DVDs from my NAS, it dows not play all blu-ray isos.

In particular, my Kylie Aphroditie blu-ray image will not play reliably. The sound keeps breaking up and my Sony receiver appears to be losing the audio synch.

Has anyone else got this problem with certain blu-rays, other than Aphrodite?

Has anyone taken an iso rip of their Aphroditie and found it plays properly?

Finally, has anyone any clue on what may be going wrong or how to improve the situation.? I have CAT6A cabling and Netgear gigabit switches.

I have tried with and without hard drives and a USB memory stick.

Thanks

I'm disappointed to have had no reply from QNAP. I have done some further tests as I have two QNAP 1000Ps.

Both QNAPs have the same defect, one has a hard drive and the other has not. The one with the hard drive has the latest firmware but that makes no difference.

What I have found is that if I copy the 48GB iso onto the 1000P hard drive, I get perfect playback, so the problem must be in my NAS of the network or the network adapter of the 1000Ps.

QNAP, would you like to help me try and fix this? My Skype is John.Perry if you want to conatct me?

QNAP Tech Support have confirmed the NMP cannot cope with BD ISO high bit rates; my conclusion is that problems are likely with BD ISOs over around 40GB.

They did suggest using NFS access which seems to have helped a little.
