Hi Tony.

still problems with the startup procedure. Every new day, I have to start two or three times to get the menu.
I went back to the 1.1.3 which starts without problems, so it must be an issue of the 1.2.0.

There are also BDs (interactive menu) which doesn't play anymore. The same BD has no problems with 1.1.3.

Hi Tony,

Honestly don't know what to say, I have reported this bug with the first 1.2 beta back in August, which is HDMI output doe snot work, it works while loading screen, then when it shows the media menu, TV says no signal and have to switch to component output.

Not sure if this is related to the previous reports: Since changing the receiver, it's required to unplug/replug the HDMI to get the menu after boot - on both NMP-1000 and NMP-1000P.

New receiver is a "real" HDMI device with switching and control capabilities, the HDMI is always "up" - while the old one was just a HDMI swich - but regardless with the NMP selected or not, the HDMI menu became available immediately on both the NMP-1000 and the NMP-1000P before.

Old receiver was a Sony STR-DG700 (HDMI diect switched to an early/expensive FullHDMI Sony Bravia LCD), new receiver is a Sony STR-DN1020.

Does unplug/replug HDMI help to recover the HDMI output?

Hi Schumaku,

Unfortunately not.

I tried...
a) change the resolution => no hdmi output
b) unplug/replug HDM => ho hdmi output

Today I had to start three times to get the menu :-(

...the disconect/reconnect was random luck. Does not reliably recover HDMI detection and operations.

Hi QNAPTony,
Any official reply from QNAP please ?

Also what about the previous bugs I have reported, which is extremely slow Wireless network performance even on version N network and controller, and failing or wrong fetching of movie info from the net, there is no clear documentation of what the file name should look like to assure right imdb recognition.

thx

Have the same problem. Player plugged just few days ago. New. Everything was OK. Even saw few movies. But today just try to start the player and catch the same problem. Checked on Sony Bravia LCD and Pioneer plasma. The screen show up only when switch on, then blank. Any sources when this problem could be solved ? Any suggestions ?

I too have the power problem which needs a power cable adjustment each time at the back of my NMP-1000P V1.30.1125. This fault ONLY started after the recent 05Dec2011 upgrade. At first I felt the AC power-bar was the problem, the then the AC converter for the NMP and finally I focused on the power plug at the back of the NMP-1000P device. When re-plugging in the power-plug, the unit sparks 'blue' but then remains off until the power is switched via the remote control or the power-button at the front of the device. There are times when this is not sufficient and then I then rotate the power plug until a connection is made... while continually pressing the remote power button and rotating or replugging the power cord at the back of the unit. At time, the original position of the plug is sufficient for a 2nd start-up but usually NOT a third power-up and then I begin to play with the power-plug again.

Can QNAP quickly fix this problem, otherwise those with this problem, like I, may burn our NMP motherboard in an attemp to re-power the device.

To addition on my above message: try to connect via HDMI, component and composite cable with different TV direct. Sony and Sharp LCD, Pioneer plasma. The result is the same. Try manually start to play movie form USB. Sound is coming ( via receiver of course), but picture is absent. many time try to switch on/switch off power supply, interconnects - no way. I have no HDD inside. Is it software problem issue or hardware ? If soft, may somebody guide me how to reinstall correct soft without screen ? I can find on player's screen the " update form local" but I don't know what to do next ? list up and down or press "OK" ? And what version of correct soft ? Appreciate beforehand.

Hi sstalker,
I had to downgrade back to last good version which is dated back in April (NMP-1000P 1.1.3 Build0421), you need to boot NMP into safe mood, which is power the NMP while pressing the options button till it shows fw loader screen, which for some reason displays ok on HDMIoutput but not the normal mode. so go figure !!!!

I think its a software issue to the fact that HDMI works when 1.2 is in safe mode, and it was ok till we loaded this bad software.

hope this helps
