Transferring via USB to NMP 1000

Hi

I'm new to the NMP 1000. I've connected the player directly to the Mac and trying to copy my movies via the USB connection to the media player. The Mac sees the player, I would be able to move files from the NMP to the Mac but not vice versa.

The NMP (assuming it's a non-modded installation) is using an NTFS file system internally for the data storage volume. You should be able to see the NMP just like yet another external HDD with an NTFS file system from your Finder.

I can see the NMP in Finder but I can only drag and drop from the NMP to my Mac ( I get this little green plus icon). But pulling files across to the NMP wont work, I get this forbidden icon.

Brainstorm... Old grey cells tell me that certainly elder OS X builds support only read from an NTFS file system. To enable writing to an NFTS file system, third-party applicaitons and drivers were required. Somewhere I remember a hack for Snow Leopard permitting NTFS read and write, at the risk of sosme Kernel panic effects. Dr. Google should help.

For Lion, only third-party NTFS drives ie. by Tuxera or Paragon could help.

Sorry, all the OS X systems I have access here at hoe have (commercial) NTFS drivers installed, so I was not really aware this is not a plain OS X feature.
