login problem Twonky

Post by Battersea »

I have a TS-209 and having a problem with my login into the Twonky server... I installed a username and password in the Twonky server, but forgot both... :( Is there any way to re-install the Twonky server or userame/password? Or is the only solution to totaly reset the Qnap in the factory defaults?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Regards,

Battersea

how to find twonkyvision-mediaserver.ini

Post by yourmate »

Hello,

just a quick note for those having trouble finding twonkyvision-mediaserver.ini on their qnap (pls note that directory structure might differ depending on device type
- but using "ls -a" command when telnetting you'll see where you are and what subdirectories you can get in)

quoting qnapivan from a different thread (copied over because this is the sticky one):

1. Please make sure you have enabled the Telnet or SSH on your NAS.
2. Use Putty to SSH to the NAS. (it is running at port 22); Or you can also Telnet to your NAS.
ex: type "cmd" in your start menu, type in "telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 13131"
3. Use administrator account to log in. (admin:admin as example)
4. type in the command: " cd /mnt/HDA_ROOT/twonkymedia " You will enter the path.
5. type in " ls " you should see the files in the folder. You should be able to find the file.
6. typr in " rm twonkyvision-mediaserver.ini ".
7. Restart the server. (Go to web admin page, go to Network Services> Multimedia Station, Distable the "Enable UPnP MediaServer" and then re-enable it.

hope that helps :)

when to delete twonkyvision-mediaserver.ini?

Post by yourmate »

and one more comment...

you have to delete twonkyvision-mediaserver.ini even after you've done (several) reset on your qnap (it does not help either if you formatted your HDD in your nas)

I've bought a second hand unit and hadn't got a clue why was my access blocked still after several resets ;)

gone fishing,
ym

TS-201 Twonky login

Post by petefn »

I have TS-201 and login problem.
I suppose I have to erase twonkyvision-mediaserver.ini. But I can’t get there.
Tried to SSH and Telnet with ports 20, 21, 22, 13131. It only connects with telnet on port 21.
But I don’t know the syntax of the all the commands ( I see if the commands if typing HELP).
Also tried SHH Explorer on port 22 but “connection refused by remote”

Any suggestions.

Hi
I´ve also a login problem with Twonky
I´ve a TS-101 and so far no problems. Suddenly I couldn´t play the files from my audio player(Tangent Quattro)TQ
I could only find them but ont play them!?
After a restart I can´t go to the twonky config site! http://ip:9000/config
the site can´t be seen.
If I double click on the url. under Multimedia Station, I only come to this site http://ip:9000/ and ther is only 3 maps(music, pictures and videos) and nothing else except a "home" icon
I think this is why the TQ cant play the files, can somebody plaese help me!!
I´ve tried to find the twonky file wich is mentioned in this post, but failed.
if I type cmd and afterwords telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 13131 is the x´s the the ip for the Qnap or ? because this doesn´t work for me. I don´t know if this is the way or what to do PLEASE HELP.

Hi, Petefn and Auri
telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 13131 is the x´s the the ip for the Qnap or ?
yes. ex: telnet 192.168.1.33 13131
Then you have to use administrator's account and password to log in.
For TS-101/201: the default ID is "administrator".

Then please follow up the steps.

4. type in the command: " cd /mnt/HDA_ROOT/twonkymedia " You will enter the path.
5. type in " ls " you should see the files in the folder. You should be able to find the file.
6. typr in " rm twonkyvision-mediaserver.ini ".
7. Restart the server. (Go to web admin page, go to Network Services> Multimedia Station, Distable the "Enable UPnP MediaServer" and then re-enable it.

Let me know if it works for you.
Cheers,

Hi

It won´t work!
if I type: telnet [qnap ip] 13131 [enter]
it says that the port 13131 can´t connect?

I open the start menu and click on "run" then I write cmd is that correct!?
