I have just bought the TS-419P (haven't got it yet) and my question is.. does the built in twonky streams MKV 1080p files and does it work well with PS3 firmware 3.

Bubbadk..

how is the 419p in performance, just returned a synology cs407e... was furious about the performance...

the version of twoky that is included int he latest firmware version CANNOT stream MVK's of any kind to the PS3. The solution tha tI have foudn is to use a computer with Ps3 media server (google it), to do this. I can tell you that this solution works and this is what I use to stream 720p and 1080p anime to my ps3.

really defeats the purpose of having a QNAP NAS for serving multimedia though doesn't it?

I convert ALL my MKV files with mkv2vob, before putting them on my NAS. This converts the MKV container in to a format the PS3 understands (vob or mpg container)... kinda stupid.... not really QNAP or Twonky's fault... more Sony's fault than anything. They don't want to damage Blu-Ray sales now do they? Why make it easy for us?

Be nice if we could get a version of PS3 Media Server for the the NAS, to replace Twonky.
