[Solved] PS3 can't play .ts files from twonky

Postby MalMug » Wed Sep 08, 2010 1:54 am

Hi,

I've just set up QNAP NAS server with runs Twonky media server to share media files. Music files plays fine, but video recordings (file type .ts from HUMAX cable box) get error not supported. I've been able to play same files from twonky with Samsung tv and in ps3 via PC.

So far I have:
- Updated all relevant firmwares from QNAP and PS3
- In mnt/HDA_ROOT/twonkymedia/resources edited clients.db and changed HH:PLAYSTATION -> HH:PLAYSTATION 3

Used versions:
QNAP TS-219P 3.2.2 Build 0819T
Twonky media server 5.1.6
Playstation 3 firmware 3.42
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

Don't know what else to do, really would like to get those files streamed :(

Help please,

Antti

this is kind of an old thread but I will post a reply anyway..because I also had problems playing back ts files and it was kind of a pain in the ** to try and find the missing codec all the time. so instead I just convert them, it's much simpler and if I may, I can recommend this Audials Moviebox soft, works well with this type of files.
