Advice wanted: Sonos / Squeezebox

Postby Uffe » Mon Jul 09, 2012 9:18 pm

Hi!

I want to set up a music streamer to play music from my NAS (TS-439 Pro II). I've been looking at the Sonos Connect and the Logitech Squeezebox Touch. At the moment I'm leaning slightly towards the SqueezeBox for its open software design but this isn't a clincher, it's just nice.

So: does anyone have any experiences to share, good or bad, with getting either the Sonos or the Squeezebox to work with a QNAP NAS? I'm fine doing a bit of manual setup and scripting if need be.

Also, does anyone know of any issues with using both the Squeezebox Server and the regular Multimedia Station at the same time? I use the Multimedia Station to stream music to my phone.

Thanks,

Squeezebox all day in the week :)

The only thing is that you must have the tags in good shape for it to build the database.

You cant test and install the server from here viewforum.php?f=123 without to buy the Thouch first, the current version is 7.7.2
No need to run multimedia station if it's only for music, you can stream directly from LMS to both iOS and Android phones

If you have more questions please put them in Squeezebox section (more easy to find)
Sorry for my poor english.
