TS-251 link error from Kingston to Amazon (UK)?

Post by SpangleMaker »

Hi

I'm looking to upgrade the memory in my TS-251 from 1GB to 2x4GB. Searching in these forums leads me to understand that I should get DDR3L, not DDR3.

When I do this seach on Kingston, it gives me DDR3L (as I was expecting).

However, when I click on "Buy" and select Amazon UK I get taken to a DDR page, rather than the DDR3L page that I was expecting.

Pretty sure in my mind that the link from Kingston to DDR3 is an error, and that I need to buy the DDR3L, but I just want to check before I place the order (better safe than sorry!).

Thanks

Rob

https://www.qnap.com/i/in/product/model ... 42&event=2

TS-251-4G: 4GB DDR3L RAM (2GB x 2)
TS-251: 1GB DDR3L RAM

L means Low Power v1.35v and NOT the 1.5v memory.
Regards Simon

Hi There

If you are looking to buy extra memory - Try google Qnap NAS and the store that sell Qnap should sell the memory as well - ask and ye shall find
*If first, you don't succeed USE A BIGGER HAMMER!!!!!!!
*If first, you don't succeed.....don't try sky diving or bungee jumping!!!!!!
RAID IS NOT A BACKUP!!! - make sure your data is on a different device or location.

Correct observation - but nothing the QNAP community can do here. Had challenged Kingston already? In other countries,

Amazon is selling QNAP NAS, too

Should not be difficult to find one or a pair of Kingston KVR16LS11/4 for example ... even without a direct (country or market specific) "Buy now" link.

Thanks for the replies. I've already got the correct ones on order from Amazon, I just wanted to point out the trap that Kingston has left for the unwary.
