QNAP TVS EC880 Bays

Post by Bijiont »

Sorry about the semi junk title as I honestly couldn't think of something better.

I currently have a QNAP TVS-EC880-E3-8G which has been great but something I noticed in the software has me wondering. If I look a the configuration it states 8/10 bays are in use.

Starting to wonder if this unit uses the same exact backplane as the 1080 and I could actually extend my 880 unit with two more bays.

Doing a full sync from my old NAS so I haven't had a chance teardown the unit and look. If no one else knows I will update what I find once this sync completes.

Thanks,

10 is correct :geek: eight HDD slots, two internal mSATA slots.

Ah, so it does count the internal mSATA slots as well for the total disk count. I suppose that does make sense. Was thinking because of how the WebGUI showed the mSATA disks they were counted separate.

Thanks,
