Using Logitech K830 with QNAP TS-451

Hello everyone! I just purchased a Logitech K830 to use with my QNAP TS-451. The instructions specify using windows-based software to pair the device with the USB receiver. Does this mean I would have to create a virtual machine and install Windows and then download the software from within the windows-based VM? If that is the case will the keyboard work while I am outside of the VM (e.g. when I am using XBMC)? I am very new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

I have Logitech K400 that is similar. You have to "mate" the keyboard and receiver together (similar to bluetooth pairing). Once you have them mated, via the PC software, you don't need the PC again. You don't have to do the mating on the NAS itself, any PC/Laptop/etc. will work.

Jeff, I'm thinking of buying this keyboard for my 451. Can you provide any feedback or advice on how well it works. I mostly use Kodi and Skype to be honest, maybe a few random apps from time to time.

It's a hid compatible keyboard touchpad combo .. it should work just fine, I have that one for my compute stick and it works great (even with auto illumination it lasts for months on one charge)
