TVS-863+ and disk temperatures

Post by philhu »

I just started using my new TVS-863+ and been getting 55C temp warning on drive 4

Looking at the system health, I see 1 and 8 at 48C going up to 4,5 at 55c, so the box definitely has a heat problem. So I changed the high fan from 57 to 53 which seems to 'work'

Then I noticed this box does NOT have HD drive vents in front of the tray, while others NAS units do

I also have a UX-800P, so my solution is to take 2 of the ux-800P trays, and put my main unit disks 4 and 5 in them. They don't look as nice, but...

With that config, disk 1 and 2 goes to 44, and 4,5 goes to 49. A drop of about 5 points

So, if you have this unit, get 2 ux-500P/800P trays from QNAP. They have vents!

I have a brand new TVS-463+ with a similar issue - one (out of the 4) drives repeatedly reports a temp warning (55 C). How do you get to System Health and fan settings? Thanks!

Agreed. But how do I get to System Health and fan settings? I would like to tweak things to keep the heat down as reported above.
