SSD Upgrade for TS-269 Pro

Post by sigmazero »

i have qnap ts-269 pro and upgraded to 3GB of rams

currently i am connecting 2xSegate 4TB HDD working in RAID 1

as you may all know TS-269 pro Have 1xe-Sata Connector and 2xUSB 3.0 in the back ...

My question is if i bought 128GB SSD and connected it as cashed device in an external Rack... Would it make any difference in the performance of the NAS?

Currently am using the nas in the following

- PLEX Media Server
-NAS sharing smb and ftp ...
-download station
- after upgrading to QTS 4.2 am thinking of using it as a vpn server

Nope. You can't setup an external drive as SSD Cache under any Firmware Version/Build.
