TS-212 fan replacement

Post by dima_vy »

I have TS-212 for some years already, and lately i started to hear the NAS's fan. Did anybody replace the fan to silent? Is any good model for replacement?

Thank you in advance

This has been discussed before on the forums but don't know if anyone actually replaced the fan.

You may need to remove the fan look at the specs/make model and then search google for a replacement. You could try asking QNAP by submitting a ticket and ask if they can supply you with a replacement fan, or advise you on what fan to buy for it.

Thanx Simon,
i saw the discussion, but i didn't understand if anybody really replaced the fan. Someone talked about this one Evercool EC6015SH12BP http://www.ebay.com/itm/300859009884. It looks compatible, but i prefer to re-check if possible.

Thanx

Compatibility is given by the 12 V, PWM (pulse width modulation RPM control), a tach sensor signal [thus four wires], the physical dimensions, and (harder/impossible to know) the max airflow at a nominal RPM, and the max RPM.
