Intel x520-sr2 won't start after reboot in TS-EC2480U-RP

Post by progqn »

Hello,

we have TS-EC2480U-RP with a Intel x520-sr2 10GBit network card.
Firmware 4.2.0 2016/01/01 but this issue existed ever since we bought it and with several version of 4.1.3 as well.

After a reboot of the NAS, the 10Gbe Network card doesn’t come up. We have to change something in QTS which triggers the network service to restart.
Once the service has restarted, the 10Gbe card is responsive.

A second reboot right after the first one also fixes the problem.

Is there anything we can do to have the 10Gbe card up and ready each time?

Thanks :)

Hi,

Get in touch with QNAP Customer Service on https://helpdesk.qnap.com/ (registration required) and file a ticket please.

Hello Kurt,

thanks for your reply. We actually did that first. As a reply we got:

"Ich kann da leider nicht mehr sagen, vielleicht sollten Sie Ihre Anfrage auch im englischen Qnap Forum stellen, mit etwas Glück können Sie dort vielleicht sogar einen unserer Entwickler antreffen."

Which basically translates to: We have no idea. Try your luck at the QNAP forum. Maybe you run into a developer who may be able to help you out.

Did I get the wrong support somehow? I will submit a ticket again anyway.

Thanks

Please challenge them again on the same ticket - tell them to escalate the issue to the second level support.

Die Kollegen in München sollten das Problem den Leuten in Tawian weitergeben. :geek:

Referencing the forum is nice ... however, some hardware models and combinations are not that often represented by other community members here.

Grüsse,
-Kurt.
