Couple of questions - HTPC replacement

Post by ujellyx »

I'm currently looking into replacing my chinese mini pc i currently use as an HTPC with an actual NAS that fulfills my needs.
I heard that one can run Windows on a QNAP NAS and because of that i have a few questions:

- Will i be able to install steam on the vm and use the NAS as Steam Link device (to stream games from my desktop-pc to the NAS)?
- Is the virtualization good enough to run maybe an N64-emulator?
- Will i be able to use my Logitech K400+ with the NAS/in the vm and my XBox Controllers in the vm when playing?
- Can i output the vm on the whole screen instead of just inside the browser?
- While in the vm, is the NAS still doing its normal tasks?
- What would be a recommended NAS for my use case (running PMS, Sonarr/SickRage, SABNZBD, Couchpotato and VM with Steam Link)? Would a TS-251(+) with upgraded RAM suffice?
