Report your printer that doesn't work with QNAP NAS

Postby QNAPRei » Tue May 06, 2008 2:58 pm

Hi all,

QNAP's now collecting the info of USB printers that are popular among end users yet don't work with our NAS series in order to improve our products' compatibility. Please kindly report your printer models by replying this thread. Thank you very much!

Best regards,

Canon LBP2900 / QNAP 209 pro (fw 2.0.1 Build 0416T) / Win XP pro SP2

Hi,

- printer is detected by Qnap server (Manufacturer: Canon, Model: Canon CAPT USB Device, Status: Ready)

- printer is visible in network neighbourhood (\\Qnap\QnapPR3)

- followed the official installation method described here, as well as various other methods

- always ending with an error box from the printer driver "The print server is down. Check the print server"

- also note that another printer (Epson photo 890) is already connected to the same Qnap 209, and is working fine

Thanks!

My HP PSC 1210 scanner/printer isn't showing up.

I have already applied the alternate rootfs for the GCC3.3 fix...
( viewtopic.php?f=85&t=4786&hilit=gcc+3.3 )

I don't know if the printer not showing up is related to that or not. I will have to kick the family off in order to revert and test. That could be kind of tough. I also noticed in the webgui that I can't see the itunes page in order to turn it on or off.

I would like the scanner to work-- but need the new rootfs for the content filter to work, too. (dansguardian, in optware).

HP PSC 1315 all-in-one printer doesn't work. Unable find the printer driver to complete the installation. I have used the original CDROM driver disk that came with the printer but it's the same.

Epson Stylus Color Inkjet DX5050. The printer works but it doesn't relay ink levels, the scanner doesn't function, and the memory card interface is non-functional.

Is this output of this question available somewhere on the QNAP site or this forum?

The TS-109 manual says that at http://www.qnap.com there is a list of supported printers, but I can't find, despite spending 30 mins looking there and this forum.

My specific question is what is the level of compatibility between the TS-109 and the Epson Stylus CX3200? Its a 3-1 printer, so should I only expect basic printing or does the scanning work via the TS-109 as well? (I'm guessing the copying shouldn't be affected :)

As we're looking to upgrade the kid's printer a full list would als be helpful.

thanks
