Same problem here: successfully connected my USB3 (Revoltec Case), but after some time, it disappears. This is reproduceable, and does not appear when connecting to a USB2 port.

THREE things seem to be reliable up to date:
1) There are manual "tricks" to reliably connect USB 3 cases
2) Those cases will reliably disappear within some hours or so
3) There is reliably none of the USB 3 cases from the reliably short qnap compatibility list available in "mainstream shops" in central europe

Sorry to all qnap people, I feel better now, and I KNOW you are working hard for it, but well, I bought a QNAP NAS advertised to be USB3-connective, and what I see is - by best effort - a "USB3 proof of concept"...

UPDATE: Looks like the USB3 drivers will be updated in the next firmware - 3.7.2

Anyone have any luck with the new firmware version? I see no difference and still have unusable USB 3.0 ports.

I can't express how sorely disappointed I am, QNAP. Until USB 3.0 is fixed, QNAP NAS devices with USB 3.0 ports (and the issues discussed in this thread) are essentially falsely advertised.

Of course there is no difference - the FW is still using the same kernel outdated like héll.
QNAP, why is your homework still not done?
3.8.2 Build0301 - Codename "Titanic" - Dear customer, GTFO! NOT acceptable once again!
QTS 4.0 - Codename "Leaky Snail" - Slower than ever. Yes, we can!

Still touch and go with the USB3.0, and now the new firmware is freakishly slow with the download station

getting pretty annoyed with Qnap now, maybe they need to look at the synology interface and technology

Hi

My new CnMemory Airy 3 TB seems to work so far quite well:
NAS FW 3.7.3; USB drive formatted with NTFS via NAS
