Hi everybody
Our TS-859u is now reporting "System Fan 2 failed".
Does anyone know of a replacement fan that we can plug in and use?
I tried looking at shop.qnap.com but there are no replacement fans listed for this model.
It appears to be 8x3 (cm) smart fans so I believe it should be possible to use a standard fan from e.g. CoolerMaster.
But, I am not sure what kind of connector is needed.
Is it 3-pin? 4-pin? And with which connector type?
The unit is in a production environment and I would very much like to keep it running until I get a new fan.
Any help appreciated, thank you in advance.

Re: TS-859u - System Fan 2 replacement?
Please note that the airflow of the fans is much higher then normal PC fans.

Thank you.
Do you know the specifications?
I believe the connector-type is PWM, can anybody confirm this?

Re: TS-859u - System Fan 2 replacement?
I've replaced mine (on a 870, never replaced the ones one my old 659 Pro+) with two Nexus Real Silent D12SL-12 PWM, min 15.5 dB, max 76 CFM, much better then the original ADDA AD1212LB-A7BGL min 32.9dBA, max 72.3CFM, they also are connected with rubbers instead of screws which will save fan resonation.

Re: TS-859u - System Fan 2 replacement?
Hi,
I also had this issue on one of my 859 pro +
I was advised to use Coolink SWiF2-12P 120mm PWM as the ampage is closer to the obsolete AD1212LB-A7BGL
It seems to be working fine but I'm getting a fan error message. Smart Fan Control: System fan failed so maybe I was advised wrongly.
You can get the full fan spec from http://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/A ... Wm38aHkQ==
