Yes the homefolder is enabled. when logging in with the new user via SMB it shows the home folder, and on the NAS in homes there's a user folder with that name

I will submit a ticket now.

Last idea: you did NOT configure any permissions beyond the defaults for the homes share, did you?

No. Just deselected access to multimedia folder, and deselected all apps except ftp server

Shouldn't the content of the FTP root be

/home

??

I have only / no /home shown in dir list.
Yes - bug in QTS 4.1.1 20140916 ... works like a charm on QTS 4.1.1 20140822 (TS-x51). Filed as bug as MantisBT ID 2324.

Can't reproduce on any ARM box. (The Intel ones are happily running Debian with no plan to change...)

Only a few custom shared folders removed - no home around here (standalone TS-119 and TS-212 on QTS 4.1.1 20140916).

Suspect a "feature" of the AD integration? Or mixing with another NAS model (currently on QTS 4.1.1 20140901) :ashamed: ?

Nope, not mixing. It works just fine on TS-119P II and TS-420 with 4.1.1 build 0916 as well; simply not reproducible here.

Easily reproducible on TS-496L with the latest firmware - 4.1.1.20141003. Home folder is not shown in the list though accessible when changin it by name (cd home).

Issue will (as per QNAP) be fixed with QTS 4.1.2.

WebDAV permission denied after upgrading to QTS 4.1.1

Post by fishy »

Hi all,

Here is some update.

The original problem cannot be fixed. And new problem is found and this only happen after upgrading to QTS 4.1.1 related to the /homes directory.

I am using the "homes directory" features since last update. And I was using FTP quite frequently for each users. After upgrading to 4.1.1, when users login to FTP using their own account, their own home directory is disappeared! Other share folders remain unchanged. Using AFP or the QNAP web file station can access their own home directory.

Anyone experience these problem after upgrading? Please leave a message if you do. Thank you.

The home folder is "just" invisible - this might case an issue to FTP GUI applications where home won't become visible to click. a manual cd /home works like a charm - explained in this thread before.

What for? Everybody does experience it... It's a known issue, and will be fixed with the coming up QTS 4.1.2.

I can not reproduce this issue here on my TS-470 Pro under QTS 4.1.1 Build 20141003. I am able to access my "home" folder via Filezilla without issue.
