how to change folder icon ?

Sorry to ask if this was answered already else where (but could not find it).

I share the Qnap NAS with 8 PC's on Windows (7 and .

For some folder from the nas shared on the network, I would like to see a different folder icon.

So my question is : is it possible to change the icon of a folder ?

Are you wanting to change the default icon of the shared folder in the NAS i.e QNAP/multimedia or do you want to change the icon of a folder contained within i.e QNAP/multimedia/folder ?

Sorry mate for the super delayed answer

For an icon within a folder simply create a folder with a similar name on a local drive as well as on the NAS

place said icon into a folder within the created folder on the NAS

Link the properties of said folder on the local drive to display icon from the *.ico file contained within created folder on the NAS

COPY and replace said folder from the local drive to the NAS, (since the names are similar ask it to replace the folder on the NAS)

It should be there now or refresh and the folder should technically show the icon against the folder on the NAS

Oh and also , if you do this make sure that the drives are shared and labelled exactly the same (I.e I:\documents) across all PCs in the network
