AFP problem

Post by calberto »

We have a TS-EC1680U used by three iMac with OSX 10.6.8 as "file server", there is 2 shared folder in qnap, the first "Archive" with a size of 14.5TB with 1206076 files and 40057 folders and the second "Works" with size of 3.54TB and 267000 files/13500 folders. The iMac's use AFP protocol to access to the share in the Qnap, but from 2 days ago it seem no longer work. With SMB work. I tried to disable the AFP protocol and re-enable it in the Qnap with no luck, if I try to connect from iMac trough AFP the session cannot be estabilished.
Any suggestion? It can be for the amount of folders/files?

solution: I created a new share and moved via File Station the folders from the old share to the new, and AFP back to work.
