Surveillance Station 5.0.1 No Motion Detection

Post by tonypony »

Please Help, Anyone.

System: TS-419p+
2 Hikvision ds-2cd2032-i cameras

Before upgrade to 5.0.1 I had 5.0 with no issues. I upgraded to 5.0.1 and motion detection stopped working. I can manually record or set schedule to record. When I set to motion detection, it does not record when motion is happening. It does not trigger.

Luckily I was able to revert back to 5.0 and motion detection started working again.

Any thoughts?

It would be good to see some release notes for SS Pro 5.0.1 - I haven't found any. And haven't spotted any differences yet.
What type of motion detection are you using with those cameras? eg SS Pro dedicated FTP event notification account '_nvrevtrpt00000' ?
I have an ONVIF camera using that method for motion detection and it's still OK after upgrading from 5.0.0 to 5.0.1
Are you using the ONVIF selection for your cameras, or does SS Pro have specific model support?

I do not use FTP.. The camera is automatically selected via UPNP (Camera is supported). I tried removing cameras from the camera configuration and adding them back in..

Still no luck.

The most common type of trigger in SS Pro for in-camera motion detection is for the camera to use SS Pro's 'event notification FTP account'.
Where the camera SDK (programming interface) and logon access allowing configuration are used by SS Pro, the addition of the camera causes SS Pro to configure FTP settings directly on the camera itself.
If SS Pro's FTP settings on the camera are subsequently changed - motion detection will likely not work.

The strange thing is that the SS is actually recording when an alarm occurs.....i just don't get the snapshot with the alarm mail as it used to be.

Has anyone the link to the SS Pro 5.0.0 package?

Found the SS Pro 5.0.0 package and downgraded to this version.
Alarm-recordings and alarm mail with attached snapshot working properly again.

I'm sticking to this version and wait for firmware > 5.0.1

best regards, hank

Unless someone reports this to QNAP, good luck waiting for a fix.

When I downgrade on SS 5.0.0, motion detect recorded. Thanx "AlastairStevenson" for SurveillanceStation_5.0.0_20140528_arm_kw.zip.

I bought 2 HikVisions DS-2CD2132-I cameras a week ago and I've been using a QNAP TS-410 for years. I tried to get motion detection working in several ways, but no luck.

-Downgrading SS didn't succeed; SS went into a loop on the first boot. So I had to re-install the latest version.

-Also using the firmware in the HikVision camera was no success. You need to "format" the folder on the NAS used by the camera. Though this is not a real formatting process, but some kind of initialization. But after this procedure, which takes about an hour, the formatting-thing is "forgotten" and you can start again!

So far I ended up with continues recording and after a week of struggling I am ready for therapy.
