I want to edit an avi file from my QNAP VS-2004 Pro server so that I can email it.
I get an error message from my video editor (AVS4You).
The error is "QMP4 codec not installed".
Where can I find this QMP4 codec.
Any other advice on editing this AVI video file would be helpful.
I have already installed several codec packs with no luck.
It seems like nothing out there recognizes this AVI file.
I am using Windows 8.1. windows media player works but does not do what I want.

You may need to install the VLC Player on your PC?
The following post may help you.

Thanks for the link Darryl!
My VLC version did not contain the latest fix...
I installed the latest nightly build (04/19) from http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win64/last/
The file format is recognized now :)

I'll perform better search on the forum in the future, sorry for this noisy post

Cheers,
Chris.

Updated Surveillance Station this morning and...

latest VLC (19/04) now tells :
"Codec not supported:
VLC could not decode the format "wMP4" (No description for this codec)"

Same with 'wIVG' Motion JPEG
