Virtualization Station: database disk image is malformed
I have a TS-451 with 4GB RAM. I have a WinXP virtual machine. I can run it normally.
But I can not edit virtual machine configuration from VM List
I got error message as following:
Virtualization Station
database disk image is malformed
I'm using lates QTS 4.2.0(2016/03/11), and Virtualization Station from App Center, version 2.0.3924.
Anyone know how to deal with it?
Thanks

Power off the VM before editing configuration; as I can see it is suspended.

Re: Virtualization Station: database disk image is malformed
thanks for the reply。
i checked the screenshot, yes, it's in suspend status. But it's not the cause of the issue. I tried every status to open the configration:restart nas, stop the vm, suspend the vm.... I'm sure the database is broken as the message said. But I can't delete it since I can't open it.

Re: Virtualization Station: database disk image is malformed
Hi.
Just like my system. I got the same error message and can´t start the virtualization station.
My System ist a TS-536 on a current Softwarelevel. But i have updatet to this newest versions because of the problem without an improvement.
I have reinstalled the virtualization station an have resettet the TS-536 (10 Second Resett) and the problem remains.
I see this Errormessage on the cli: django.db.utils.DatabaseError: database disk image is malformed
What have i do before this Error? I operate with some SnapShots to restore Data on a different Volume without Success. And i have deletet a bigger Data amount in the only VM who is running in the virtualization station.
What can i do to complettly install the App new?
Kind regards

What can i do to complettly install the App new?
- remove/deinstall the Virtualization Station (VS) app
- SHH into the device and remove folder /share/CE_CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/.QKVM :
# rm -rf /share/CE_CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/.QKVM
- reinstall VS & start
You will loose all (personal) settings in VS.
Not sure if this resolves the OT issues as well (guess so, but might be overkill).
Please report this error to QNAP.

Having this same issue. First happened when I upgraded my TS-451 to 4.2.1 build 20160419 from 4.2.0 build 20160311. Tried above fix, but it did not work. Then downgraded back to 4.2.1 still did not work, even after redoing same procedure again.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Patrique

Open a ticket with QNAP support.
Use the forum search feature before posting.
Use RAID and external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced, and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.

Are you sure you removed /share/CE_CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/.QKVM after deinstallation of app?pmalaise wrote:Having this same issue. Re: Virtualization Station: database disk image is malformed
Hi All,
we just experienced the same issue for our Virtualization Manager DB.
A friendly System Engineer did use the following commands to fix this for us
As I did no see him doing this - its unclear, whether this was the whole trick, or if he did add then the VM again to the database.
The incredible thing with all was - he was using the VM itself to use Putty to fix the Virtualization Station DB - therefore it does NOT affect your VMs
--> The only missing thing is the "Backup Jobs" for the VMs, as far as I can see
Well Done - I hope he writes a full KB article to explain this more detailed
Best Regards

Re: Virtualization Station: database disk image is malformed
I think this is not the entire trick, as "webvirtmgr-2.0.3924_clean.db" is missing in "/share/Public"
