Qmobile iphone Gateway Timeout

Postby milan_sg » Fri Jul 20, 2012 12:27 am

I just bought last week Qnap TS 212 and back up all my files into it.
Everything works perfectly like DLNA with my AV receiver as well the Qmobile using with my Iphone 4.
However Qmobile works only if I am connected over wifi at my home.
Whenever I tried to access data over 3g I am getting pop up w. Failed to Connect to the Server.
In my Qmobile app settings is Host/IP xxx.mycloudnas.com/MSV2/

If I tried to have a look over safari xxxx.mycloudnas.com/MSV2/ getting HTTP Eror 504: Gateway Timeout
"The server, while acting as a gateway or proxy, did not receive a timely response from the upstream serverit accessed in attempting to complete the request"

If I tried over safari just mycloudnas.com this is working. If I fill my cloudnas name is working, if I want to click/open multimedia station then I am getting again above message gateway timeout. However web administration over iphone 3g is working.

Port forwarding on my router is set, all Multimedia settings is active, but really no idea what is going on.
Anybody can support and help with this topic.
Thank you so much.

Use just Host/IP: xxx.mycloudnas.com ...it's not an URL.

Bacck to setp one...

1. Wenb server enabled?
2. Able to reach http://[NAS] on the LAN to see the default Web page (or whatever is there)?
3. Multimedida Staiton enabled?
4. Able to reach http://[NAS]/MSV2/ on the LAN from a Flash-enabled browser, and use MSV2, including set default admin password, ....?
5. Port 80 forwarded on the router to the NA LAN IP?
6. ping xxxx.mycloudnas.com does resolve to the public WAN IP address on the router?
7. Check your router does not reserve 80 for it's own purpose - disable WAN access to router admin on 80 in case.
8. Ensure your ISP is not blocking 80/TCP to run a web server
9. Use (from another Intenet connection- unless you are 100% cocnvinced your router doe allow NAT loopback...) a browser and check http://xxxx.mycloudnas.com/ to see the default Web page (or whatever is there)?
10. Use (from another Intenet connection- unless you are 100% cocnvinced your router doe allow NAT loopback...) a browser and check http://xxxx.mycloudnas.com/MSV2/ to see and use MSV2?

Then oyu ae ready ot grab the iPhone or Android again... and strat with setp 1 from above ...

first 7 points ok,
point 8 I have discovered that Starhub (ISP) is blocking port 80, changed to port 85
point 9 NAT loopback not supported by router Cisco, thinking about different Router

Now checking with Starhub (ISP) technical support dpt possibilities.
thanks for support, keep infomed about the status as I suppose I am not only one in Singapore facing this issue with ISP.

Hm, not desperately manatory ot have a router allowng NAT llopback, to connect NAS services on the public IP address from the LAN - more a nice to have feature.

ja, public IP would be the best option and as I was browsing internet a lot there should be this possibility available.
Now obtained message from ISP that my demand was addressed to technical department.....omg it will take ages.
so lets see....
