No public folders or files are available

Postby stromlos » Thu May 24, 2012 5:10 am

hello,
if i start the multimedia station, i get the error message "No public folders or files are available"

in the web file manager i see the folder "Multimedia" and the subfolders "Samples" and "myOwnTestFolder". all subfolders have the permission 777, and the files into the subfolders 777, too.

why the multimedia station does not find any folders/files???

Most likely, you didn't "share" them. It you don't share them, they aren't public.

Also did you "login" to the Multimedia Station. If you don't login, everything is probably "private".

Only make these folders public accessible you really intend to place to the public.

The Multimedia Station, Photo Station, and Music Station allow the definiton of users.

I have shared a new folder "test" in the menu "Access Right Management - Share Folders", but the Multimedia Station doesnt find anything.

No, that is not the place to do it. Kindly Read The Fine Manual, really.
