If i open my qnap in my browser and move files say from a pc to the qnap or a external hd I can only transfer one file and i cant minimise it? The only way to do it is to start the transfer and open the file manager in a new broswer tab
Is there an easier way to do this?

That's more a limitation of the desktop application - typically Windows Explorer - and not of the NAS.
Of course, it allows to select multiple files, multiple folders, ... and start the copy in one rush.
Yes - just open another Explorer instance - but be aware parallell copying is cocmmonly slower than doing it in sequence.
