Hi all,
I am having some issues using the RTRR from a FTP server to my NAS. Login works fine, so does initial sync -the bad part is that now that the folder on my TS-1079 is containing thousands of folders and files, the RTRR job failes every day. And all that the log has to say about it is:
Job is aborted because there is a remote I/O error or no space left on the destination device!
Now the FTP server definetly has no I/O issues - files are beeing uploaded and downloaded all the time by several users using standard desktop FTP-clients. And everything is working great on that part. I do have a whole lot more free space on my TS-1079, so why is it reporting no space left?
Anybody have a clue?

Hi Henrik,
1. May I know what kind of FTP server you used?
2. Can you provide me the 'detailed log'?
Regards,
Tony

Re: RTRR from FTP server to Qnap
The ftp server in use is IO FTP - serving a number of clients.
This logs also mentions some errors about permissions on some folders - these I have checked using a standard FTP client and having no issues there. So I am wondering a bit on the FTP client that is used for the RTRR job..

Re: RTRR from FTP server to Qnap
Sorry to be kicking such an old thread, but having, what looks to be, the exact same problem over here with RTRR and a remote ftp server getting files from the remote ftp server to the Qnap:
So very curious why it reports I/O error/no space left on device. The latter can't be true, no quota enabled and 5TB of free space.
Code: Select all
2013/04/01 18:25:43 Job [Remote:backups-->RemoteServer] started.
2013/04/01 18:25:43 Synchronize files from a remote folder to a local folder.

2013/04/01 18:25:43 The SSL connection option is enabled.
2013/04/01 18:25:43 The number of folder pairs = 1.
2013/04/01 18:25:43 Pair1 = [Backup/RemoteServer, backups].
2013/04/01 18:25:43 Schedule type: Monthly (month day = 1, hour = 7, minute = 30).
2013/04/01 18:25:43 The deleting extra files option is disabled.
2013/04/01 18:25:43 The detail log is disabled.

Re: RTRR from FTP server to Qnap
Nope, still have an open ticket on this at:
http://helpdesk.qnap.com
please submit this issue yourself there as well. They're busy for over a year now to troubleshoot this issue for me. Possible solutions ranged from a complete re-install of one of our Qnaps to possible network issues or hardware issues with our hard disks. None of them were solutions in the end unfortunately.

Re: RTRR from FTP server to Qnap
Ticket is still open over here, but they don't acknowledge this is a bug in QTS yet unfortunately, their last reply was:
while we can reproduce this bug on every Qnap device we have, so typical Qnap support response again I guess, not helpful at all.Sorry, our RD can not reproduce this issue you got.
