RTRR to ftp server

Hi All,
I have been using qnap for the last couple of years and I am really with all its features.

I want to do create a remote replication of my ftp server(not a qnap ftp server) to qnap. when I try to create a replication job and and enter my ftp server details (not qnap) and the connection is well established between my qnap and ftp server. It says "success". however in the next step, when I try to see the remote directories, I can not see any directories and the "remoter source folder" is empty...

I use filezilla for long time and I have never had problem connecting with filezilla. and It connects in passive and active mode.
I searched in forums, but I can not figure out a way to see the directories, do I need to open a port on my router?? or Is this a security protection on the remote server???

any help is greatly appreciated.
